Creative Painting; Paper Optional

By Gaie

The creative process of painting is enhanced when young children have the option of painting whenever, wherever and on a variety of surfaces. Through painting exploration, the children are learning that they have control over their body's movements and the objects around them. As they paint they are thinking creatively, problem solving, developing fine muscle control and perceptual abilities.

By  providing  many opportunities to explore their world through their art children learn self-confidence and a healthy sense of self esteem.

A child's sense of competency flourishes in an environment that promotes opportunities to experiment and produce without the added adult pressure of an end 'product'.

So, the next time you are bringing out the paints take them outside and remember - paper is optional. Then, stand back , watch and you will be amazed!
